Meet the Team: Housekeeping Team Member, Stacey!

Welcome to another instalment of the 'Meet the Team', where we showcase a different member of the team to help you get to know a little bit more about them. Next up is Stacey, who recently returned from maternity leave, but will be a familiar face to many.

Name: Stacey Larkin

Job title: Housekeeper

How long have you worked for venYou/SPB?
Three and a half years

What led you to this career?
One of my friends worked for venYou – she really enjoyed her job and the people she worked with, so when venYou was recruiting housekeepers, she recommended the position to me. At the time, I was looking for a new challenge and decided to apply!

What does a typical day involve?
A typical day begins with my morning commute into the city centre to start my shift at the Scottish Provident Building at 7:15am.

After a cup of coffee and some breakfast, we have a quick team catch up with team where we are split into pairs and assigned dedicated floors to ensure all offices are covered. Then it’s time to start cleaning the kitchens, stacking the dishwashers and ensuring the fridges are stocked, before moving onto our floor rounds.

Then, it’s time for the office cleans which I really enjoy, as we get to chat to clients whilst moving between offices.

Once that’s complete, it’s time for lunch and given SPB’s location in the city centre, I usually pop into one of the shops close by to grab something to eat.

After lunch, we clean and tidy the kitchens, as well as any remaining offices that need cleaned. My shift finishes at 3:15pm, when I head home to take care of my daughter.

What’s your favourite part of your job?
We have many clients in SPB from lots of different lines of work, so it is interesting chatting to them and getting to know them. The team at venYou are also great, they make work fun and are very supportive.

Can you describe the venYou environment in three words?
Flexible
Friendly
Supportive

In your opinion, what makes venYou stand out from its competitors?
venYou stands out from its competitors because it has a range of buildings, perfectly located across the city centre. The level of service that the company offers is second to none, and not to mention the standard of offices that are available – some within the Scottish Provident Building that have idyllic views over City Hall.

How do you like to relax outside of work?
I like to spend my time with my daughter.
