venYou Recognised for Sustainability by EcoVadis

Business workspace provider, venYou, has been recognised for its green credentials from globally recognised sustainability ratings provider, EcoVadis.

With Belfast having been recently recognised as the most sustainable destination on the island of Ireland and ranked 8th in the world according to the latest GDS (Global Destination Sustainability) Index, it is no surprise that venYou was able to benchmark its sustainable practices and receive recognition as a Silver Standard company.

venYou, which has three buildings; Ascot House, Northern Court and the flagship, Scottish Provident Building, is now recognised amongst the top 25% of companies that undertake the thorough assessment with EcoVadis, which focuses on environmental, labour and human rights, and ethical factors.

Across venYou’s three locations, various systems and procedures have been put in place. For example, upgrades have included the introduction of LED lighting and the installation of more energy efficient air conditioning systems. Green cleaning products are also used, where possible, and clients are encouraged to print only when necessary. venYou has also partnered with one of Northern Ireland’s waste management companies to ensure that all of their waste is diverted from landfill and is recycled in the most environmentally sensitive way.

This latest accolade contributes to venYou’s ongoing commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility and to its many clients, which range from small start-ups to large multinational organisations. Whilst this is a relatively new arena for the organisation, it’s something that Operations Director, Jonny Hill, is committed to improving. Jonny said, “As a workspace provider it is important for venYou to support and help our clients progress. There is a sea of change in respect of how people do business and what is required to be more green.
