Serviced Office Provider Welcomes Removal of Work from Home Guidance
Latest Announcement “Encouraging” for Belfast Business Economy Says venYou Director
Following an assessment from the Executive’s COVID-19 taskforce, the work from home where possible guidance has officially been removed in Northern Ireland, more than two years after it was first implemented by the UK Government in March 2020.
Although the COVID-19 risk hasn’t diminished completely, venYou Operations Director, Jonny Hill claims that this latest update will encourage even more companies to return to the office, which will hugely benefit the wider business economy in Belfast.
“Yesterday’s announcement is very encouraging for the Belfast business economy,” Jonny said. “These past few years have been challenging for most business sectors to say the least and to hear that companies can now officially return to the office is going to come as a huge relief to many.
“Over the last few months, venYou has noted an increase in the number of companies returning to the office, either on a full-time basis or following a hybrid working arrangement and we’re sure that this will increase even further given the Executive’s recent announcement.
“There’s no question that companies and their employees are the life blood of Belfast City Centre, and as we’ve seen, a lot of local businesses rely on their support, whether that’s shops, cafes, bars or restaurants. Encouraging more and more businesses to return to the City Centre will go a long way to assisting the recovery of our City Centre’s companies and the local Belfast economy as a whole.”
According to Jonny, venYou is fully prepared to welcome more businesses back to the office after having introduced a number of health and safety measures and technology upgrades in recent months.
“The health and safety of our clients is vitally important to the venYou team,” Jonny continued. “It’s perfectly understandable that some clients may have reservations about returning to the office after having spent the best part of two years at home, however I would like to reassure them that we have taken all the necessary precautions to make the office environment as safe as possible.
“We have a dedicated housekeeping team that look after our three office buildings – the Scottish Provident Building, Ascot House and Northern Court – and carry out a robust cleaning regime, ensuring that kitchens, bathrooms, offices and all communal spaces are kept clean and sanitised.
“We have also updated our security measures meaning that staff do not have to pass keys around to gain access to the building or offices – each employee now has their own key/fob.
“Elsewhere, the reliance on technology exploded during the pandemic and it’s something that we don’t anticipate reducing despite the removal of the work from home guidance.
“We have added Display Note launchers in our state-of-the-art conference rooms, which enable our clients to connect to calls and apps safely, quickly and more securely.
“After coming through one of the most turbulent times in recent history, the venYou team is ready to welcome more companies back to the office and to do our part to assist the recovery of the Belfast business community.”
